Sept/26 - Ingram Digital adds Shibboleth authentication to MyiLibrary e-content aggregation platform

LA VERGNE, TN – Ingram Digital SM, an Ingram content company focused on solutions for digital content management, hosting, distribution and promotion, today announced that the MyiLibraryTM e-content aggregation platform now supports Shibboleth authentication.

Shibboleth, used by the UK Access Management Federation, utilizes widely accepted federated identity standards to provide a single sign-on and attribute exchange framework. Shibboleth was specifically developed to address the challenges of controlling access to multiple resources offered by an institution, third-party providers, or both. As a result of this enhancement, MyiLibrary users will be able to access multiple points of information using a single set of credentials. Ingram Digital is among the first companies to add Shibboleth, a next-generation authentication option, to its e-content solution for libraries.

Developed in partnership with the UK’s Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), Ingram Digital’s Implementation of Shibboleth further enhances ease-of-access to e-content on the MyiLibrary platform. MyiLibrary will continue to support other authentication options including IP address, Athens, login (user name and password) and referring URL.
